Two employees were shot and killed at an O’Reilly Auto Parts in southwest Albuquerque night, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the O’Reilly Auto Parts, located at 2712 Sunshine West Plaza Dr. SW, off of Coors Boulevard and Blake Road, around 5:12 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found one man dead, and a second man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
BCSO identified the store employees who died as Richard Newman, 47, and Jesus Valdez, 18. Deputies detained 27-year-old Ismael Rene Tena, and he is charged with two open counts of murder.
The investigation remains ongoing, BCSO added.
