Georgia girl, 8, dies after she was hit by car at bus stop, driver arrested for vehicular homicide

A Georgia girl died from injuries she suffered when a driver ran her over as she was attempting to board a school bus, and the driver has been arrested in connection with the child’s death.

The eight-year-old girl was attempting to board a Henry County School bus on Thursday on Jackson Lake Road, at the intersection of a private driveway, when the driver of a Ford Fusion plowed into her, Georgia State Patrol said, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

State Patrol said the bus had its red flashing lights activated, and that the stop signs on both the front and rear were displayed.

Following the crash, the girl was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators announced that the girl had succumbed to her injuries.

The driver who hit the girl was identified as 25-year-old Kaylee Andre, who was booked into the Henry County Jail on charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, failure to stop for a school bus loading and unloading and failure to exercise due care.

Andre’s windshield had been iced over, and she allegedly did not scrape all the ice off, which partially obstructed her view.

Taylor Swift cheers on Kansas City Chiefs and goes out with the girls before resuming her Eras Tour

Taylor Swift was among the thousands of Kansas City Chiefs fans recently celebrating the NFL team’s berth in this year’s Super Bowl.

The “Anti Hero” singer rushed the field after the AFC chapionship win, immediately pulling boyfriend Travis Kelce into an embrace and later sharing a kiss.

Swift has been a fixture at Chiefs’ games since September 2023, and the couple’s every move has been closely watched, especially the “Midnights” star’s.

Here’s a look at a few times Swift has turned heads since going public with her and Kelce’s relationship when she’s not performing for her wildly successful Eras Tour.

Since attending her first Chiefs game in September 2023, Swift has gotten closer to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The two are often photographed together watching games and cheering on their men. Their friendship has extended beyond the football stadium. The two have been spotted out to dinner multiple times with a group of girlfriends or on their own.

During one of the games, cameras captured Swift and Brittany celebrating with a secret handshake. Patrick later told CBS This Morning, Swift is “part of the Chiefs kingdom” at this point, admitting her handshake with Brittany is “better than [his] and Travis’.”

“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany, and they’ve built a friendship as well,” Patrick told the outlet in December 2023. “So, for me, it’s Travis, man, and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and a great woman, and it’s been cool to interact with her.”

Swift has fully embraced the role of a football player’s girlfriend, attending Kelce’s games in full Chiefs gear on multiple occasions. Her presence at the games has created some controversy. Many fans are annoyed she takes up so much screen time during game broadcasts.

“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” she told Time magazine in December 2023.

“I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

David Letterman, former host of “The Late Show,” stood up for the singer, telling all the haters to “shut up” in a video he posted on social media, adding that Swift and Kelce are bringing “something positive and happy for the world.”

In the video, Letterman refers to Kelce as actor Kelsey Grammer.

When she’s not supporting her man or hanging with other WAGs while she’s on a break from touring, Swift is with her pals, including actress Blake Lively.

The two were spotted out together in New York in early January. Swift was wearing a velvet green dress and patterned knee-high boots, and Lively was wearing a multicolor striped sweater and a brown miniskirt.

In November 2022, Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, told Entertainment Tonight his entire family is “obsessed” with Swift and her “Midnights” album.

Later that month, Swift thanked Lively when she won favorite pop album at the American Music Awards after Lively directed her in the music video for “I Bet You Think About Me,” calling her “my beautiful, brilliant friend” and “my director.”

The singer walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in a shimmering green dress and diamond earrings.

She was there as a nominee in the award show’s newest category, cinematic and box office achievement, for her concert movie, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” The movie grossed over $261 million at the worldwide box office, raking in $93 million its opening weekend. Ultimately, the movie lost to the summer’s biggest blockbuster, “Barbie.”

Swift has been nominated at the award show four times in the past in the best original song category. Her first nomination came in 2013 for the song “Safe & Sound,” which she wrote for “The Hunger Games,” and her last nomination was in 2023 for her song “Carolina,” which she wrote for “Where the Crawdads Sing.”

Swift was spotted on a night out in the Big Apple in late January, wearing a long hooded sweater dress and a black coat.

The singer is getting ready for the 2024 Grammy Awards. She is nominated for four awards, including best pop vocal album and album of the year for “Midnights” and record of the year and song of the year for “Anti-Hero.”

While Swift will likely be by Kelce’s side during his big moment at the Super Bowl, her boyfriend will not be able to attend the Grammys as her date.

“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for. But I think I’ve got practice on Sunday,” he said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in January. “Unfortunately, I’ve gotta get ready for this big old Super Bowl that we’ve got in a week.”

Police investigating after ‘private photos’ of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team leaked online

Police are investigating a matter involving the University of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team after the university said “private photos” that were “never intended to be shared publicly” were being circulated online without the consent of those involved.

The athletics department released a statement confirming that the UW-Madison Police Department is investigating “multiple crimes” after student-athletes contacted them over the photos and video.
“We are aware that private photos and video of UW volleyball student-athletes that were never intended to be shared publicly are being circulated digitally,” the statement from the university read.
“The unauthorized sharing is a significant and wrongful invasion of the student-athletes privacy, including potential violations of university policies and criminal statutes.”
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, one image shared by a source shows some members of the team posing with their sports bras lifted after winning the Big Ten

“UWPD is investigating multiple crimes, including sharing sensitive photos without consent. UWPD is not investigating the volleyball student-athletes for wrongdoing in this matter,” the statement continued.
“Our top priority is supporting our student-athletes and we are providing them with the appropriate services and resources.”
UWPD Executive Director of Communications Marc Lovicott told Fox News Digital on Thursday that they are “unable to share any additional details” beyond the university’s statement, citing an active and open investigation.
According to the report, most of the images have been taken down.
The Wisconsin volleyball community was rocked by scandal when a series of explicit photos featuring members of the team were leaked onto the internet. The source of the leak remains a mystery, leaving many wondering who could be responsible for such an egregious act. There are several possibilities, including a disgruntled former player, an anonymous hacker, or even a member of the team itself. Regardless of who is behind the leak, the implications for the affected players and the school are far reaching, and the case is sure to be a major topic of discussion among the Wisconsin volleyball community for some time.

A POLICE INVESTIGATION has determined that the topless photos of the Wisconsin volleyball team that went viral online were obtained from a PLAYER’S phone. Photos and videos taken after Wisconsin’s victory at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Volleyball National Championships went viral on the internet last week. Sharing explicit images without permission is illegal in Wisconsin. The 40 photos and videos were taken by the Wisconsin volleyball team in the aftermath of its victory at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Volleyball National Championships in December of last year. The team’s players, some of whom have since graduated, can be seen flashing their breasts at the camera in celebration during a private celebration in their locker room in the large cache of pictures.
The Wisconsin volleyball team pictures were leaked after a member of the team posted the images on their social media account without realizing that the account settings were configured to make the images public. The photos were then quickly shared and spread across the internet, leading to a huge controversy. The individual responsible for the leak was reprimanded and the settings on the account were changed to ensure that future images would be kept private. The incident serves as a reminder for all members of the team and the university community to be aware of the privacy settings on their social media accounts.

More photos of the Wisconsin volleyball team have been leaked, including thongs, underwear, and boobs. It is essential that you watch this video. Laura Schumacher is a woman who has received a lot of attention. People are drawn to her looks so much that when you click the “love” button at the bottom, you’ll find out she’s also in love with you.
Police in Wisconsin are investigating the leak of explicit photos and videos of the University of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team, which occurred online last week. The images and videos, which were allegedly taken from a player’s phone, shook the university and athletic department. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department has launched a full investigation into the matter, but no conclusions have been reached as to what caused the leak. The Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team is made up of some of the country’s top female athletes.

Dana Rettke is the tallest player on the team, standing 6-foot-8 inches and playing in a league that has a lot of imposing players. Wisconsin won its first national title in 2021 during the university’s long and illustrious history in the NCAA. The situation is still unknown, but it is clear that the University of Wisconsin-Madison takes the leak of the women’s volleyball team’s photos and videos very seriously. We will work with the university and the athletic department to ensure that such an incident does not occur in the future as the police investigation proceeds.

Dexter Scott King, son of Martin Luther King Jr., dead at 62

The King Center has announced that Dexter Scott King, the youngest son and third child of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, has died.

King died at the age of 62 after a “valiant battle with prostate cancer,” according to the King Center.

“He transitioned peacefully in his sleep at home with me in Malibu”, says his best friend of 21 years, his strongest supporter and wife of 11 years, Leah Weber King. “He gave it everything and battled this terrible disease until the end. As with all the challenges in his life, he faced this hurdle with bravery and might”, she said.

His sister Rev. Dr. Bernice A. King, CEO of The King Center, stated “words cannot express the heart break I feel from losing another sibling. I’m praying for strength to get through this very difficult time”. His brother Martin Luther King, III added ‘‘the sudden shock is devastating. It is hard to have the right words at a moment like this. We ask for your prayers at this time for the entire King family”.

Born in Atlanta on Jan. 30, 1961, he was named after Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery Alabama, where his father served his first pastorate. He was the second-born son of Dr. & Mrs. King and was only seven years old when his father was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1968. Like his father, he grew up in Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where his grandfather served as pastor. He was a graduate of Frederick Douglas High School, where he played football and participated in many other school organizations. He then he followed his father’s footsteps to Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia.

The son of the civil rights icons was the family member delegated to take on the mantel of continuing the precedent his father set by legally protecting his work. He devoted his life to the continued perpetuation of his father’s legacy and the protection of the intellectual property (IP) his father left behind. At the time of his death Dexter served as both Chairman of The King Center and President of the King Estate. Becoming well versed in intellectual property law, and its management and licensing was the result of his dedication to the delegated task and the memory of both his father and mother.

Known to be humble about his uncanny resemblance to his father, he portrayed him in the 2002 television movie “The Rosa Parks Story.” The actor had a love for the creative arts and initially relocated to California to pursue a career in acting. But family duty called and he answered, living out the rest of his life balancing both his love of the arts and his duties to the King family legacy.

At a private ceremony in July of 2013, he married his best friend and longtime partner, Leah Weber, who is a New Orleans native, former broadcast journalist, entrepreneur, and consultant. Together they built a life of love, support and unconditional love, much like that of Dexter’s mother and father.

He was preceded in death by his father (1968), his mother (2006) and sister Yolanda (2007). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 11 years Leah Weber King, his sister Rev. Dr. Bernice A. King, his brother Martin Luther King, III, and his neice, Yolanda Renee King.

The King family requests privacy at this time and will respond to media inquiries following a press conference planned for Tuesday Jan. 23, at 10 a.m., at The King Center’s Yolanda D. King Theatre inside Freedom Hall.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time.

2 in Oklahoma accused of toppling country radio station tower to steal $100 in copper

A man and a woman have been arrested for allegedly taking down part of an Oklahoma radio station’s nearly 500-foot tower to steal some copper, Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park says.

The tower, located in Hugo, belongs to Payne Media Group’s station K95.5. The radio station posted a video of the damage on Facebook following the vandalism that took place

“Cut the guy-wire on one leg and that’s what brought entire top sections down,” the video’s narrator, identified to Fox News by the station as Will Payne, says. “And then, they proceeded to disassemble.”

Cut hardware was shown as viewers were told how the transmission line connected to the antenna was targeted by the thieves.

“What they do, these copper thieves, is they cut it up in these 10-foot sections,” Payne says. “So right now we know that there’s probably eight to 10 of these sections in the back of a truck or a van, maybe. This is what we need to be looking out for, and if you can help me out as we try to figure out our next step, what we’re gonna do to rebuild this place.”

“Let’s make them pay,” Payne says about the crime that happened overnight, leaving the mangled tower on the ground. He said the copper taken would only be worth about $100, but Sheriff Park believes otherwise.

“Loss of copper a few hundred dollars, damage to the tower and building approximately 500,000.00,” Park posted on his Facebook page.

The station, identified by call letters KITX, is still not available over-the-air as a result of the tower damage, but can be listened to online. It is also posting updates about the investigation on Facebook.

Sheriff Park identified the suspects as Matt Wilson and Candice Logan. Local media outlet the Paris News identifies Wilson as being 37 years old, and Logan as 34. The investigation is ongoing.

The tower was built in 2017 and K95.5 was the first FM station to serve northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma, a station spokesperson told Fox News via Facebook Messenger. They added that local community response has been “humbling.”

American Airlines plane slides off taxiway at New York airport

No one was hurt after an American Airlines flight slid off a runway at New York’s Greater Rochester International Airport after landing at the afternoon and attempting to taxi to the terminal. The aircraft had departed from Philadelphia International Airport and landed in Rochester at around 4 p.m. local time when the slide occurred.
There were 50 passengers and three crew members aboard the Embraer E145 airplane, a spokesperson for Monroe County told CBS News in an email. While turning onto a taxiway, the jet veered into the grass, the spokesperson said, adding that “the cause is undetermined
However, an American Airlines spokesperson confirmed to CBS News in a statement that the flight, operated by Piedmont Airlines, “exited the taxiway while in transit to the terminal due to snowy airfield conditions.
A passenger on the plane posted to social media a photo of the plane sitting in the grass with the accompanying caption, “My @AmericanAir plane just ran off the runway into the grass at @ROCAirport. Happy landings.
Another video posted by the same person showed passengers deplaning down a metal stairway in the middle of a snowy field with firefighter assistance.
Passengers were moved by bus to the terminal, the county spokesperson said. No injuries were reported.
“Safety is our top priority and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” said the American Airlines spokesperson.
Dangerous winter storms have blasted the Northeast and several other portions of the U.S. in recent days. On Tuesday, airlines canceled thousands of flights, causing confusion and untold chaos to travelers.
Safety issues have plagued the airline industry in recent weeks. On Jan. 6, an Alaska Airlines door panel blew off mid-flight and the plane, a Boeing 737 Max 9, made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, minutes after takeoff. The Federal Aviation Administration has grounded dozens of Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft in response, forcing Alaska Airlines and United Airlines to cancel hundreds of flights. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have opened formal investigations.
The FAA said it will investigate the runway slide.

Warriors coach Dejan Milojević dead at 46

Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojević has died after suffering a medical emergency at a team dinner in Salt Lake City, the team said. He was 46.

The Warriors said he suffered a heart attack.

Milojević was in his third season on the Warriors bench and was a part of the coaching staff when Golden State defeated the Boston Celtics to win the NBA championship in 2022.

The team said he suffered a “medical emergency at a private team dinner.” The NBA announced that the Warriors’ game against the Utah Jazz, set for Wednesday night, was postponed.

“We are absolutely devastated by Dejan’s sudden passing,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. “This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him. In addition to being a terrific basketball coach, Dejan was one of the most positive and beautiful human beings I have ever known, someone who brought joy and light to every single day with his passion and energy. We grieve with and for his wife, Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa. Their loss is unfathomable.”

Milojević previously coached in Serbia and Montenegro before he joined the Warriors. He coached Denver Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic before he came to the U.S.

Milojević had stints in the NBA Summer League with the Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. He spent 14 years as a professional basketball player and was a three-time MVP of the Adriatic League.

As a head coach overseas, he was a Serbian Cup winner in 2016 and a Montenegrin League champion and Montenegrin Cup winner in 2021.

As a member of the Serbia and Montenegro national basketball team, he won a gold medal in the 22 & under European Championship in 1998 and a gold in EuroBasket in 2001.

North Carolina police chief ousted after asking captain’s wife for nude photos

New details have come to light regarding the October termination of a North Carolina police chief, who reportedly asked a captain’s wife for nude photos on Snapchat, among other wrongdoings.

The request came twice, though the woman did not respond with any photographs, Mars Hill town manager Nathan Bennett told The News-Record & Sentinel of Clark’s conduct.

“Your conduct in attempting to pursue a romantic relationship with the wife of one of your subordinate officers is reprehensible. To actively solicit that relationship is unforgivable and put your entire Department and the town of Mars Hill at risk,” Bennett wrote in an Oct. 16 letter addressed to Clark.

The captain reportedly provided Bennett with screenshots of the messages Clark sent to his wife, and Bennett then solicited an independent investigation of the former police chief’s conduct with the department, The News-Record & Sentinel reported.

Clark apparently admitted to sending the messages when Bennett confronted him, the outlet reported.

Bennett added that Clark’s dishonesty with him and the investigator left him “no choice” but to terminate the former police chief.

“Your insubordination to me by immediately leaving my office and attempting to communicate with the members of your Department and with the victims of your misconduct is blatant,” Bennett continued.

The town manager also criticized Clark’s “handling of firearms” in his office, saying they were not “locked and in a safe place contrary to all concepts of gun safety,” even though the guns were not loaded, and Clark’s personal use of his vehicle provided by the town for official police work.

Clark could not be reached for comment, and Bennett declined to comment further.
