
Dozens of law enforcement officers from multiple agencies — including the ATF — are responding to an area near West 54th Street and Lyndale Avenue South in south Minneapolis. According to Hubbard Broadcasting’s KSTP, authorities are on scene of a mass shooting in south Minneapolis.
Richfield police confirmed reports of 20 victims, adding that a man dressed in all black and armed with a rifle was reported at the scene.
Gov. Tim Walz tweeted shortly after 9 a.m. that he’s been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School, which just started classes.

However, Annunciation Catholic Church is across the street and had an 8:15 a.m. mass at the time of the incident. ATF and the City of Minneapolis say the incident occured at the Annunciation Catholic Church, not the school.
ABC News has confirmed there are multiple victims in the shooting and the suspected shooter in the incident is believed to be dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Gov. Walz tweeted “I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information. The BCA and State Patrol are on scene. I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of this all comes after three other deadly shootings in Minneapolis over the past 24 hours, including one directly behind Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, roughly four miles north of Annunciation.
