A crew member of covid-19 cruise ship died in Florida

Pensacola, Florida

Officials said one of the crew members who was hospitalized for several days after two sick cruise ships with coronary disease were eventually allowed to leave in Florida.

Broward County Medical Examiner Craig Malak confirmed the death of Uweit Widarto, 50, from Indonesia.

Widarto’s test was positive for COVID-19, raising the death toll associated with the Zaandam ship to four.

The man died, six days after the Zaandam wharf and a sister ship at Fort Lauderdale after spending two weeks at sea, which were rejected by South American ports,

Spokesman for the Netherlands-America Line said.

He was taken to a hospital in Florida on the same day the ship was docked.

Four elderly passengers had already died before the cruise ships arrived, and the medical examiner said earlier this week that three of these men had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The death of the fourth man is due to a viral infection.

Malak said his test results were negative for the new virus, but he died for 12 days before being tested

About 1,200 passengers got off the Zaandam ship and its sister Rotterdam, which was sent for first refurbishment with supplies and crew members who became ill.

Cruise, federal and Florida officials negotiated for several days before disembarking.

The cruise line says that 29 passengers on board because of their mild illness were to finally travel to their country on chartered flights, a week after their arrival in Florida.

Zaandam left from Buenos Aires, Argentina one day before the State Department advised to avoid traveling on a cruise and a week before most cruise lines stopped their flights

Meanwhile about 12 international guests will remain quarantined aboard Coral Princess which docked last weekend in Miami with cases of covid-19, according to a statement by Princess Cruzes.

The company said that many of the former Princess passengers left South Florida on five charter flights.

It was one domestic flight while the others were heading to South America and Europe.

Despite ongoing efforts through diplomatic channels, the company said that current travel restrictions by countries of origin prevent travel to home for 13 international guests, and local authorities will not allow the use of local hotels. Guests will stay with Coral Princess’ crew for 14 days.

The port of Miami was scheduled to leave Thursday evening.

Two riders died before the Coral Princess moored in Miami and a third later died in hospital. It is not clear whether the deaths were caused by COVID-19.

The ship originally left Chile and Passengers were supposed to disembark in Argentina

On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the extension of the non-sailing order to all cruise ships. Officials did not say when they expected the matter to end.

We are working with the cruise line industry to address the health and safety of crew members at sea as well as the communities surrounding the entry points of American cruise ships

Robert Redfield director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement.

The measures we take today to stop the spread of COVID-19 are necessary to protect Americans, and we will continue to provide industry-critical public health guidelines to reduce the effects of COVID-19 on its workforce for the remainder of the epidemic.

Walmart app 20% higher than Amazon due covid-19

Pensacola, Florida

Record your online grocery shopping order in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that sent grocery delivery and delivery applications on charts. As a result, Walmart Grocery achieved the highest level ever in downloads – it ranked first in all U.S shopping apps on April, and Amazon exceeded 20%, according to a new analysis from the App Appie App Annie.

Citing data from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store combined the company said that the Walmart Grocery app has held this No. 1 position for at least two days. While App Annie data was calculated on April 7, 2020, Walmart Grocery is still 1 on Google Play and it is now 2 in the App Store

Increased interest in Walmart Grocery may complicate Walmart’s plans to get rid of Walmart’s standalone app merging instead into the flagship mobile app and website.

Earlier in March before government closures and quarantine spread Walmart announced a new strategy that makes online grocery shopping a part of Walmart.com’s all in one and Walmart mobile app

Ultimately, the goal was to end the completely separate grocery experience after customers convert.

There are multiple benefits to this plan, including the ability to direct marketing dollars in promoting only one Walmart app, instead of two. It can also help increase sales across departments, as grocery shoppers may choose to purchase other items in the store and Walmart shoppers may discover the grocery option while browsing the site in search of something else. In addition, millions of Walmart Grocery customers will be switched to the main app, which enhances their order in app stores.

However, the COVID-19 health crisis changed things a little. As of April 5, 2020, the Walmart Grocery app has seen a 460% growth in average daily downloads compared to its performance in January 2020. This indicates an increase in the number of new customers to Walmart Grocery who may not have previously submitted an order for groceries online.

A Walmart spokesman, who was contacted for comment, said the company was still planning to integrate the applications.

We pay great attention to customer feedback and make adjustments as needed, as we know receipt and delivery are now more important than ever, they added.

Walmart Grocery is not the only shopping app growing due to increased demand amid COVID-19.

A previous report from Apptopia in March saw Walmart, Instacart, and Shipt grocery climb the charts.

Overall, demand for retail delivery is now increasing as global downloads of the shopping app reached 106 million during the week from March 29 to April 4, 2020, App Annie says – that’s 15% more than the weekly average in January 2020. Downloads in The United States alone was 14.4 million – an increase of 20% over the same period. While the Walmart Grocery Leap was much larger (460%), Amazon also saw 20% growth in average daily downloads starting in January.

App Annie found that even the internal Walmart app that employee faces is growing.

The Me @ Walmart app for partners using the Walmart scheduling system grew 220% on Android phones during the week of March 22 compared to the previous four weeks. This reflects the increased demand for store workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Walmart had said in March that it plans to employ 150,000 new employees in both its stores and order fulfillment centers to help them meet the growing demand for e-commerce and delivery orders. Since the March announcement, Wal-Mart has said it hires around 5,000 new employees per day and may exceed the original figure of 150,000. While Walmart’s intention was to hire these workers on a more temporary basis, you may find that things do not return to “normal” any time soon. Online newcomers may discover that it’s an easier and less dangerous way to shop now, and they will continue to do so even when closings are lifted.

Walmart hires 100,000 new employers

Pensacola, Florida

Walmart said it has seen a surge in demand for hair color, beard trimmers and sewing machines as Americans stay home during the Coronavirus pandemic and they are still working hard to keep pace with rising toilet paper sales.

Dan Bartlett, CNBC’s executive vice president of corporate affairs, told Courtney Reagan, CNBC, that the large retailer has hired over 100,000 new workers over the past three weeks to help him keep stock racks stored and fulfill orders online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will easily multiply the 150,000.

We will do an assessment to see if we need to do more.

Most jobs are temporary, Bartlett said, but about 10% to 15% are permanent jobs. He said that many of Walmart’s new employees come from severely affected industries and use jobs to survive until their traditional jobs return to the Internet.

He said People are watching the horizon to know when and when the economy will rise again.

But in the meantime, they provide critical service and welcome them with open arms.

Walmart is one of the retailers who saw an increase in sales as Americans bought more groceries and household items. She is among the leading retailers who have remained open because many companies, from clothing stores to restaurants, have temporarily closed and laid off or flooded hundreds of thousands of employees.

But in recent weeks, some key retailers have said they have been infected with the epidemic. Costco Wholesale, which has long lines and empty shelves, said on Wednesday that sales slowed in late March as government orders kept people at home and restricted traffic in stores to allow social distance. Walgreen said that the same store sales increased 26% in the first 21 days of March as the number of people increased, but then pedestrian traffic decreased and store sales themselves fell in the middle of teenagers in the last week of the month.

Target warned that its profits could decrease as customers buy less clothes and accessories.

Bartlett said that WalMart is still seeing sustainable demand even on materials like toilet paper that people have been stockpiling.

He said that paper goods are still under pressure.

He said that Wal-Mart sells enough toilet paper over five days so that every American can have his own roll.

He said the retailer is experiencing interesting changes as people shop for it too.

He said all kinds of things you do yourself like hair coloring and beard trimmers sell well

Sewing machines fly off the shelf too because many people sell and make their own masks at home.

He said that Walmart has insights that it can share with other companies to help employees and customers feel safe. For example, he said, she had to adopt new protocols to encourage customers to stay six feet away.

It is not an ordinary habit for people to shop this way, but we are improving every day,” he said. “These kinds of lessons, which we will clearly share with policymakers and others, are the kinds of things that I think all industries in different sectors will have to adopt themselves to give the confidence that people need to get back to work.

Linda Tripp of the Lewinsky scandal die at 70

Pensacola, Florida

Linda Tripp, whose recorded conversations with Monica Lewinsky has become a key part of President Clinton’s accountability, talks to Larry King about the White House scandal.

In a community designed to encourage neighborhood, Linda Trip has emerged from after her.

She never waved anyone, that’s all we know,” her neighbor, Mark Farfaras, told the Baltimore Sun newspaper in 1998.

Tripp died this week at the age of 70.

The former resident of Colombia or infamous rose to fame after recording conversations with Monica Lewinsky about her relationship with then President Bill Clinton.

A 2000 article in The Sun called Tripp “the woman who almost flipped a president.

In 1998, after Clinton’s relationship with Lewinsky became public, reporters from all over the world flocked to Tripp’s two-story house on the cricket ground.

The media mocked Tripp’s neighbors in Hickory Ridge Village.

A 14-year-old adventurous resident started shipping camera kits and journalists for $ 3 a visit to use his bathroom.

Long before the Clinton Lewinsky scandal, the Sun newspaper reported in 1998 that Tripp was involved in more secular contention. Disagreement over  Du Doo.

According to the account, five years ago, Tripradradrad, Cleo, relaxed on the park of its neighboring neighbors.

Neighbor Regina Valentine’s wrath brought the case to Howard County’s Animal Affairs Hearing Board.

Tripp fined $ 25 to allow her dog to run from her leash. In a letter to the council, Tripp accused Valentin of complicated vendetta.

Have any animal owners ever tried to stop the middle of a dog stream in the defecation process?” I asked the council.

The relationship of the two neighbors seems to have been permanently strained. In 1998, they were still ignoring each other in Cricket Pass mailboxes. Sun’s correspondents noted that Jim Columbia’s mastermind Jim Ross designed common mailboxes to encourage neighbors to chat and reach each other.

The authors remarked, dryly, that “she does not appear to have worked with Linda Tripp.

Clinton was charged at the end of 1998. Some praised Tripp’s role in exposing Clinton’s predatory behavior, and others criticized Lewinsky’s betrayal.

The following year, a Howard Jury County grand jury was charged with two counts of violating Maryland’s wiretapping law. Later, the state prosecutor dismissed the case.

In 2000, Tripp bid farewell to Cricket Pass. She moved to a 100-acre horse farm in Marshall, Virginia.

I think Linda has moved to try to restore privacy in her life, criminal defense attorney Joseph Murtha told The Sun at the time.

She was looking for an area that would provide her with a more private environment.

Tom Cruise confirms Top Gun 6 months late due to COVID-19

0

Pensacola, Florida

Tom Cruise confirmed the fearful expectations when he tweeted that Top Gun: Maverick a sequel to the 1986 Maritime Aviation main screen segment, will be postponed six months from the date of the release previously scheduled for June 24, 2020.

I know many of you have waited 34 years,” Cruz said on Thursday. Unfortunately, it will be a little longer.

Top Gun: Maverick will fly in December. Be safe, everyone.

If the audience’s expectation of Top Gun: Maverick isn’t really reminiscent after the movie trailer is released, then wait longer – along with a recent interview with Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer in the upcoming May issue of Empire Magazine – you should definitely do the trick.

Details revealed in the Empire’s interview include director Joseph Kusinski’s decision to place IMAX cameras in the cockpit of an F / A-18 Super Hornet to display CGI-free sequences on board that feature two physical actors launching the aircraft with stunning terrain tires and low altitude.

Empire reported that Cruz asked to fly an F-18, but the Navy intercepted, perhaps knowing that the actor in Super Hornet controls could be the very dangerous area that Kenny Logins had always warned of.

However, the 57-year-old actor is piloting two World War II P-51 Mustang pilots of personal-owned aircraft – and a helicopter in the movie.

Cruise told the empire: “I told the studio,” You don’t know how hard this movie is.

No one has done this before. There has never been an air sequence this way. I don’t know if it’s there again, to be honest.”

When it finally reaches theaters, Top Gun: Maverick, which Cruz has described as emotional, is one of the most visually immersive cinematic experiences.

The long-awaited sequel is one of many films that adjust theatrical releases to suit the whole world grinding into a noisy hiatus in the wake of the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

For example, decision makers at Paramount Studio recently released the long-awaited sequel to John Krasinski’s thrilling “A Quiet Place” starring Cillian Murphy alongside the lead-up to the original film, Emily Blunt.

As for “Top Gun”, movie-goers can now expect to enjoy the dreadful exploits of “Maverick” Mitchell when the movie lands in theaters on December 23, 2020.

Let’s read the traditional naval aviator’s prayer, “Great Balls of Fire”, and summon good luck from the sacred ghost of Goose, lest this date also require a modification in the future.
