5 teens hospitalized after shooting near Denver area school

AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Five teenagers were taken to the hospital after a shooting in a park near a high school in suburban Denver, police said.

The suspect in the shooting near Aurora Central High School left the scene and has not been identified, Aurora police said in a tweet.

Five teens were injured in a shooting in Colorado, police said.

The Aurora Police Department said on Twitter that the five young victims range in age from 14 to 17, all of whom were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Central High School went on secure perimeter because of the incident. Officials said the shooting did not happen in the school itself but at a nearby park.
