PEORIA (WEEK) — Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the person killed early Wednesday morning in Peoria.
Jerry L. Snipes, 17, and a senior at Manual High School, was pronounced dead at OSF at 5:16 a.m., despite aggressive resuscitative efforts.
Peoria Police were called at around 4:41 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Linn Street and Corrington Avenue on a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds fired where a male victim was found with gunshot wounds.
Snipes was transported to OSF in grave condition where he later died.
Harwood says the autopsy on Snipes demonstrated that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body and likely died minutes after the incident.
