PEORIA (WEEK) — Changes will soon be coming to Glen Oak Park in Peoria. Wednesday night, the park district’s board unanimously approved the park’s “Conceptual Reimagination Plans”.
Some changes include an all inclusive playground, three half-court basketball courts, and two picnic shelters.
One Peoria resident said the park needs this upgrade.
“It needs to be accessible for all kids and it needs to be safe from splinters and that fortress mentality. So, we have to upgrade, we all have to face change,” said Peoria resident, Joyce Blumenshine.
Although, the board will not make a decision on the Glen Oak Park Amphitheatre, yet. It will depend on whether or not the pavilion project at Donovan Park is approved.
