MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) – The McLean County Chamber of Commerce held it’s second ‘Walk-Up’ job fair in the last several months Tuesday. Around 65 local employers came to Eastland Mall to try to find what’s become the hottest commodity, employees.
Chamber CEO Charlie Moore said the first event they held back in June was fairly successful. Even more companies came out on Tuesday looking to fill more than 1800 jobs. Many of them looking to be filled immediately.
“We’ve encouraged people who are attending to bring resumes, to bring their licenses to bring identification, with the opportunity to be hired on spot today. And we’ve encouraged out employers to hire on the spot today. So hopefully people do walk out of today’s job fair with a job in hand,” explained Moore.
There are openings in healthcare, transit, manufacturing, education, government, and many other industries. If you missed the job fair today and would like more information about how you can apply, go to their website here.
