HANNA CITY, Ill. (WEEK) — Lightning is believed to have started a fire at the Refuel Bar in Hanna City.
Logan Trivoli Fire Chief David Tuttle says Peoria County Sheriff Deputies, doing routine patrols, called in the fire around 3:50 AM Tuesday at the bar on Farmington Road, also known as Route 116.
When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire in the attic of the Beer Garden area.
It was quickly put out.
Tuttle says the fire damage is limited to the attic area, and there is water and smoke damage throughout the building.
Tuttle says neighbors told them there was heavy lightning around 11:30-11:45 PM Monday night, which a preliminary investigation shows might have started the blaze.
Four departments were called out to fight the fire. Bartonville, Logan Trivoli, Elmwood, and Timber Hollis all responded to help put the fire out.
No one was injured, and no one was inside when the fire started.
