UPDATE: Kernville Union School District Superintendent Steve Martinez said Woodrow Wallace campuses are only scheduled to close Friday, and the staffing situation will be reexamined to possibly reopen Monday.

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (KGET) — Woodrow Wallace Elementary, Middle and Preschools will be closed to in-person learning beginning Friday due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, according to Kernville Union School District. The schools will be closed to in-person learning for two weeks.

The schools are experiencing staffing shortages as a result of the virus, district officials said.

Kernville Elementary remains unaffected.
