PEORIA (WEEK) — Kellar Primary School has a new addition.
The Kellar Colt Statue, named Spirit, now stands in front of the school in Peoria.
The colt statue is one of many animal sculptures created by local artist, Monte De Gallo.
The students were able to see the new statue for the first time during a ribbon cutting.
“They loved it. They were really surprised and they loved the ribbon cutting ceremony. We had two classes hold the ribbon while we sang the Kellar Colts song,” said Heidi Baron, principal.
The statue was donated by parents of former students. Caterpillar also made a contribution.
The statue was dedicated to the teachers and staff of Kellar School.
