TAZEWELL COUNTY (WEEK) — Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley has identified the victim of a vehicle accident Wednesday night in Tazewell County.
Craig Chione, 44, of Morton, was identified and pronounced deceased at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday. Preliminary autopsy findings showed the cause of death was complications due to thermal injuries.
According to the coroner, witness reports showed the vehicle Chione was operating traveling westbound on Queenwood Road when it lost control and struck a combine that was traveling eastbound.
Chione’s vehicle continued west striking a drainage culvert become coming to rest in a farm field.
He was the only person in his vehicle.
Toxicology results are pending.
The case remains under investigation by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and the coroner’s office.
