CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Teachers Union says a database tracking COVID-19 cases in the nation’s third-largest school district is inaccurate and raises questions about safety. The district is reporting 160 cases among adults and children this week, which is an increase from the 39 cases reported last week when school began for roughly 350,000 students across the city. The union says the information doesn’t match match reports on the ground from teachers and families while the Chicago Tribune shows lags in reporting cases. District officials say the tracker represents “one point in time.”
