KB Strong Foundation Host Annual Brown Fest

PEORIA (WEEK)- The KB Strong Foundation began hosting Brown Fest in 2019 in honor of former Coach Kevin Brown, after he lost his battle with Glioblastoma, a rare brain tumor at the age of fifty.

Each year the community comes together to for food, music and sports. This is a all day event used to bring awareness to the disease and build support.

The foundation has raised 180 thousand dollars since the first Brown Fest. Donations are made to the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria to contribute to research efforts. The organization often gives to patients through Warrior Funds. These grants are provided to make the recovery process a little easier.

Jodi Brown, Coach Brown’s wife says bringing people together to spread awareness is what her husband would of wanted.
