Hurricane Ida Aftermath: Local Red Cross volunteer deploys to Louisiana to help with cleanup efforts

PEORIA (WEEK) – A local American Red Cross cross volunteer is heading out to Louisiana to help with the cleanup efforts after Hurricane Ida.

Dave Stoner departed from the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport Wednesday morning.

According to a press release, Stoner will be joining more than 20 Illinois region volunteers who are being deployed to assist with relief efforts.

The American Red Cross continues to accept financial donations to help with disaster relief. Anyone who is interested in making a donation can visit www.redcross.org, call 800-RED-CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
