SPRINGFIELD (WEEK) — Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is set to announce a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for all K-12 teachers and staff. The same mandate will apply to college professors and staff in Illinois.
A source with knowledge of the announcement confirmed this with WEEK’s Capitol Bureau Chief Mike Miletich.
The deadline for educators to get the vaccine is still unknown, but details are expected tomorrow morning.
Pritzker will also announce that he is reinstating a statewide indoor mask mandate for everyone 2 and older in Illinois.
This comes as Illinois has seen a surge in covid-19 cases in recent weeks.
