25 Women in Leadership: Kathryn Eissfeldt

Kathryn Eissfeldt is an educator and freelance writer.

She’s the president of the Peoria Area World Affairs Council — an open forum for everybody. All opinions welcome — it’s a big tent.

Eissfeldt used to be a classroom teacher and has done home school as well — along with a lab school and a STEM school.

She has broad experience that she actually uses to write about in a freelance capacity these days.

A good leader, according to Eissfeldt, has to have the ability to work with other people and be passionate about the mission but get other people passionate about it as well.

Her family has deep roots here and she considers herself lucky to have grown up in Peoria.

She also considers community work just as important as professional work.
