PEORIA (WEEK) – Police and fire crews shut down a portion of Knoxville Avenue late Wednesday night because of a large gas leak.
A police dispatcher said the gas leak was confined to an apartment building, which was evacuated.
Peoria Police and firefighters closed down the 2200 and 2300 blocks of Knoxville, between Thrush and Arcadia Avenues.
Authorities asked the public to stay away from the area.
