Ward 6 vacancy narrowed down to 10 Bloomington residents

BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) – The Ward 6 council vacancy has been narrowed down to 10 applicants.

On Monday, the City of Bloomington announced the ten individuals who are being considered to fill the position after Bloomington City Council Member Jenn Carrillo resigns on August 31.

After serving more than two years in office, Carrillo announced they will be stepping down because they will be moving outside district boundaries.

The list of applicants were announced in alphabetical order:

Andrew Alvarez
JohAnna Chambers
Levi Champion
Luisa Gomez
Elizabeth Hawthorne
Misty Metroz
Jenee Clark Richards
Gary Stevens
Dianna ‘De’ Urban
David Wolfe

The next step is for Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe to interview each of the candidates.

Once a suitable applicant is identified that individual will then be forwarded to the council.
