Heidi Rhea is a librarian and technical services manager at the Alpha Park Public Library.
“We receive all the items that come into a library and then we process them,” she said. “We get them all ready and then put them out in the stacks so people can find them.”
Rhea decided to go to graduate school to be a librarian because she wanted to teach technology and wanted to help people.
“I find that a good leader will be patient, understanding — they listen,” she said. “A good leader will stand up for their staff and be there for them.”
“I work with the community. I’m glad to help the community. And I think this is good for any woman out there who is interested in making a difference, wanting to change their narrative, wanting to break a cycle – they can look at me and say, ‘hey this person can do it, and it’s working, and she’s happy doing this and helping other people.'”
