Southeastern McLean County in central Illinois…
Northwestern Champaign County in east central Illinois…
* Until 300 PM CDT.
* At 1253 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Several county roads east of Saybrook have
water across them and are impassible. Between 3 and 5 inches of
rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Saybrook, Ludlow, Bellflower and Foosland.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
