40 new COVID-19 cases reported in McLean County Tuesday

MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) — The McLean County Health Department is reporting 40 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

This brings the total number of probable and confirmed cases to 19,209.

241 people are isolating at home, while 18,714 have been released from isolation and are considered recovered, according to the health department.

12 county residents are in the hospital, while 16 total patients are hospitalized, the health department said.

The cumulative positivity rate is 4.8 percent, out of 399,300 tests. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 4.1 percent through Monday, August 9.

There have been 242 COVID-19-related deaths reported in McLean County.

CDC data shows McLean County experiencing high community transmission based on the 7-day moving average of new cases per 100,000 (130.60 per 100,000) as of Sunday, August 8.

The McLean County Health Department is recommending the public follow CDC guidance for masking in public indoor settings to help control the spread of COVID-19.
