MORTON, Ill (WEEK) – From Friday Aug. 6 through Sunday Aug. 8 three ACE Hardware stores teamed up with the Children’s Miracle Network and raised funds for a local children’s hospital.
Peoria, Morton, and the Germantown Hills locations all participated.
Customers came in and got a five gallon bucket when they made a five dollar donation, along with 20 percent off almost everything that fits in the bucket.
Different stores had different décor and helped spread the word each day.
“Yesterday we had some different demos and things going on to raise awareness for that and get people in the store. We’re trying to hit up every customer more than once and make sure they walk out with a bucket,” Sarah Hausam, the stores’ manager said.
The Morton ACE Hardware store gave out around 160 buckets. Customers took the opportunity to raise money and save money. They called the fundraiser a no-brainer.
“I think it’s a super cool idea and when you’re going to be shopping anyway to give back it’s easy it makes it easy,” customer Amanda Zimmerman said.
The sale continued the weekend.
