At 759 PM CDT, doppler radar indicates that the heaviest rainfall
has ended, but additional pockets of briefly heavier rainfall will
be possible through 9 PM. Automated rain gauges and radar estimates
suggest that 2 to 4 inches of rain has fallen, with an additional
half inch possible.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Fairbury, Chatsworth, Forrest, Cullom, Saunemin and Strawn.
Additional rainfall of around one half inch is possible over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
