PEORIA (WEEK) – WEEK-TV has a new owner.

The sale by Quincy Media to Gray Media Group Incorporated was finalized on Monday.

Quincy Media owned WEEK for seven years, but there are many benefits to the changeover, according to WEEK General Manager Jim McKernan.

“Our main objective of course is to serve the viewers of Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, and all of the cities and towns around those with the best news and information possible,” said McKernan.

“And our association with Gray Television is going to help us do that,” McKernan said.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Gray is the largest owner of top-rated local television stations and digital assets in the U.S.

Gray also owns video program production, marketing, and digital businesses including Raycom Sports, Tupelo Honey, and RTM Studios. It’s the producer of PowerNation programs and content, and is the majority owner of Swirl Films.
