Eastern Iowa authorities say two people are dead after their plane crashed in a cornfield, in Muscatine County.
The Muscatine Journal reports the crash happened, about four miles north of Muscatine.
Sheriff Quinn Riess says they were contacted around 2:30 p.m, by Quad City Air Traffic Control, on a report that they had lost contact with an airplane in the area.
Riess said deputies and police officers from Muscatine and Wilton launched a search on the ground and soon found the wreckage.
The names of the people killed haven’t been released yet.
