Shots fired into East Side home kill 63-year-old man in his bedroom

A 63-year-old East side man was shot and killed by someone who fired into his home early morning.

San Antonio police say the victim was standing in his bedroom when he was shot around 1:30 a.m.

They say witnesses told them the shooter was in a white compact car that arrived in the 400 block of Ferris Avenue.

Police say that person then got out of the car, walked up to the side of the home and fired shots into it.

The victim was hit in his back and died before officers arrived.

The shooter sped away in the car and has not yet been found.

Investigators spent hours processing the home and the area around it.

They found some of the shell casings in the street near the home.

Officers at the scene initially said the victim was 64-years-old. However, a written report later corrected that, saying he was 63.
