2 dead in I-80 crash when car strikes disabled semitruck


he Iowa State Patrol says two people were killed and one other was injured in a crash along Interstate 80 in Adair County Wednesday night.

According to state patrol crash reports, the incident happened at around 8 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 76. An eastbound Toyota Camry with three people inside struck a disabled semitruck that had been involved in a crash minutes earlier.

A crash report shows 68-year-old Faye Frolic and 85-year-old Harold Willey died in the crash. The driver, 68-year-old Pamela Willey, was injured in the crash. She was taken to a Des Moines hospital via air ambulance. Her condition has not been released.

The driver of the semitruck, 64-year-old Robert Johnson, was not injured in the crash.
