UPDATE: Heavy police presence after shooting near site of vigil

UPDATE (9:18 p.m.) – Peoria Police confirm there was a shooting in the 2000 block of North Wisconsin Avenue.

PEORIA (WEEK) – A heavy police presence was seen Tuesday evening near the site of a vigil for victims of a Fourth of July shooting in Peoria.

Peoria Police were called about 8:20 p.m. to the 2000 block of North Wisconsin Avenue, but they would not confirm there was a shooting at that location.

Earlier in the evening, there was a vigil after authorities announced Michael Anthony Charles Johnson II, 21, died from injuries he suffered in the shooting Sunday night in the 600 block of Haungs Avenue. Three other people were shot, but their conditions aren’t known.
