PEORIA (HOI) – One man is pronounced brain dead after a Peoria shooting on the Fourth of July.
21-year-old Michael Anthony Charles Johnson II of Peoria was pronounced brain dead just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. That’s according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. An autopsy is pending.
The shooting happened Sunday after 11 p.m. in the 600 block of Haungs Avenue in the North Valley. Johnson was one of four people who arrived at the hospital with gunshots wounds late Sunday night, two of which were juveniles.
The condition of the other three victims is unknown at this time, and no suspect information has been released. The investigation is on going.
