The National Weather Service in Lincoln has extended the

* Flood Warning for…
Northwestern De Witt County in central Illinois…
Northern Logan County in central Illinois…
Southwestern McLean County in central Illinois…
Southeastern Tazewell County in central Illinois…

* Until 915 AM CDT Sunday.

* At 801 PM CDT, emergency management reported ongoing flooding and
road damage in the flood warning area. Flooding was reported on
Sugar Creek and Kickapoo Creek from near Hartsburg, Atlanta, and
Lawndale to near McLean and Heyworth. I-55 and Route 136 have been
reported to have flooding and damage. Between 5 and 10 inches of
rain have fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Bloomington, Heyworth, Atlanta, McLean, Stanford, Waynesville,
Armington, Hartsburg, Lawndale and Shirley.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
