Flash Flood Warning issued June 26 at 6:34PM CDT until June 26 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL

At 634 PM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported flash flooding
occurring in Chatsworth. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell during
the afternoon in addition to the several inches of rain that fell
over the past few days. Flash flooding is ongoing across much of the
warned area.

HAZARD…Flash flooding.

SOURCE…Trained spotters.

IMPACT…Rapid-onset flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as
other poor drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Channahon, Pontiac, Manteno,
Braidwood, Coal City, Dwight, Fairbury, Gibson City, Momence,
Herscher, Clifton, Chatsworth, Diamond, Limestone, Gardner, Grant
Park and Forrest.

Rivers and streams around Chatsworth are out of their banks and
numerous roads are barricaded.
Expect flash flooding of creeks, ditches, canals, and storm sewers,
as well roadways, underpasses, farmland, and other poor drainage
areas.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to walk across any flooded
roads or fields.
