FULTON COUNTY (WEEK) – Blue lights were beaming in Fulton County on Friday to honor a deputy who was killed in the line of duty two years ago.
The ‘Light the Night Blue’ ceremony featured navy lights across the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, as well as a wreath next to the memorial for fallen Deputy Troy Chisum.
Investigators say Deputy Chisum was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call in rural Avon back in 2019.
A spokesperson for the city says he hopes his community will come together every year to remember the life of Deputy Chisum.
“I think it’s a big deal for people to remember what he did and hopefully from years to come will be spending every single day of this anniversary doing the exact same thing.”-Edward Glad, Public Information Officer – Canton Police Dept.
Family and Friends described Deputy Chisum as a hard-working, family man, who they say one could always rely on.
