…FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING…

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* All of central Illinois north of I-70.

* Through Sunday morning

* Thunderstorms will continue across the area tonight. After a
brief lull in the precipitation late tonight into Saturday
morning, additional thunderstorms will develop Saturday
afternoon and evening. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2
inches…with isolated higher amounts is likely. This may result
in flash flooding, especially in low-lying and flood prone
areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
