Flash Flood Warning issued June 26 at 4:42PM CDT until June 26 at 8:15PM CDT by NWS Lincoln IL

At 437 PM CDT, emergency management reported numerous flooded roads
in Bloomington-Normal, including a few stranded cars in high water.
The heaviest rain has ended: however, flash flooding will be ongoing
for the next couple of hours.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Emergency management.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Bloomington, Lincoln, Clinton, Mason City, Normal, Le Roy,
Heyworth, El Paso, Lexington, Hudson, Chenoa, Atlanta, Mount
Pulaski, Gridley, Minier, Danvers, Colfax, Downs, Hopedale and
McLean.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
