At 923 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported several cars stuck in
water and stranded motorists in the Bloomington area. Between 2 and
4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is occurring.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE…Law enforcement.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Bloomington, Mason City, Normal, Le Roy, Heyworth, Atlanta,
Delavan, Minier, Danvers, Downs, Hopedale, McLean, Green Valley,
San Jose, Stanford, Emden, Towanda, Waynesville, Armington and
Hartsburg.

Interstate 155 near mile markers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23.
Interstate 55 near mile markers 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141,
142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154,
155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167,
168, 169, 170, 171, 172, 173, 174, 175 and 176.
Interstate 74 near mile markers 122, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128,
129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141,
142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148.
Interstate 39 near mile markers 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
