The morning round of heavy rain is gradually coming to an end prior to daybreak. Some dry time is expected today, before additional showers and thunderstorms develop later this afternoon and evening. A few storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds possible.
Heavy rain, with the potential for flash flooding remains the primary threat for additional thunderstorm chances through the weekend. The weekend as a whole will not be a washout, however periods of torrential rain will bring the threat for a lot of rain in a short time. “Turn around, don’t drown!”
