One person is dead after as many as six people were shot in west Baltimore, city police said.
Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said they received a ShotSpotter alert and received calls around 2:23 p.m. to the 2100 block West Lexington Street near North Pulaski Street in west Baltimore for shots fired.
Harrison said an officer found at least two victims at the scene.
He said four others who were shot in the block went to hospitals on their own. One of the victims died.
Harrison called the incident a “very brazen, very cowardly act of shooting indiscriminately into a block where they hit six people and where they could have potentially hit and killed many others.”
