An altercation at a home on Chicago’s South Side erupted into a shooting, police said, killing four women and wounding four others.
The shooting happened at 5:42 a.m., police said, and no arrests were made immediately.
The police did not have many details of the victims, but it seems that none of them were juveniles.
The identities and ages of the deceased women were not immediately released.
Among the four injured, a 25-year-old man was shot in the back of the head, and another man was shot in the back of the head. Police said their circumstances were unknown.
Police said a 23-year-old man was shot in the back and a woman with an unspecified bullet was in critical condition.
