NEW YORK (AP) — Three men died in New York City after their car hit a concrete barrier and plunged into a creek, authorities said.

Divers and rescue workers pulled three men from the water after the car plunged into Newtown Creek in Queens at about 4:45 a.m., according to city police and fire officials.

Police identified two of the victims as Luis Cuadros, 30, of Queens, and Quameek Mack, 25, of Freeport. The third person was not identified.

Investigators believe the 2016 Honda Civic was apparently speeding when it lost control, struck the barrier and went into the creek, according to police.
