BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Two boys have drowned in a Brockton lake, authorities said.

Emergency crews were called to D.W. Field Park around 7:30 p.m. for reports that the boys had disappeared in Waldo Lake, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office.

Dive teams recovered the bodies of the 12- and 13-year-old boys after 9 p.m. A third boy, age 11, was rescued and sent to a hospital.

“It’s just so tragic,” Mayor Robert Sullivan said. “My thoughts and prayers are with the family. We just have to pray.”
