GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — An elderly North Carolina man has died in a house fire, a sheriff’s office said.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said no suspicious or criminal activity is suspected in the death of Claro Grantham.
According to the sheriff’s office, authorities were called to the man’s home on Corbett Hill Road outside of Mount Olive shortly before 10 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find the home in flames, and after searching inside the home, they discovered the man’s body.
Authorities said Grantham lived alone at the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
