
MERRIMACK, N.H. (AP) — A teenager died in a car crash on in New Hampshire, state police said.
The 17-year-old victim was heading south on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack just after 8 a.m. when the driver lost control and the 2006 Toyota Corolla traveled down the embankment and into the tree line, striking several trees, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No name was released but police said the victim was from Nashua.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the car was traveling in the left lane when it crossed into the right lane and then continued off the right side of the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.
The right lane was shut down for approximately three hours while emergency personnel worked at the scene.
The investigation is ongiong and police asked any witnesses to contact them.
