OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Two children are dead after separate, unrelated shootings in Oklahoma City, police said.
In the first shooting, 5-year-old Trevion Cole was killed after he and a playmate found a gun inside a home on the city’s northeast side, police said. The other child accidentally shot Trevion, who was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Police say an adult was in the home at the time of the shooting but was in another room.
In a separate shooting, police discovered the body of 14-year-old Sara Collins after responding to a report of shots fired on the city’s south side.
Police say there was an altercation in the area at the time and that investigators believe the teen was not the intended victim.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified in that shooting, police said.
