Authorities discovered the body of a female who was killed in a morning hit-and-run collision on Mobile Hwy. in Pensacola.
Escambia County deputies and state troopers shut down lanes at Mobile Highway and Houston Avenue around 11:50 a.m. to work the scene.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old Pensacola woman was struck by a vehicle in the area around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
FHP says it appears to have been a violent collision, which knocked the woman down into a ravine.
Troopers are working to find the vehicle and driver involved in this hit-and-run.
FHP says the vehicle involved is a blue 2000-2005 Ford Mustang. It will have damage to its passenger-side mirror and headlight.
No further details have been released at this time.
