Police are investigating two overnight shootings in East Baltimore that left two men dead and two others injured, officials said.
In the first incident, Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of N. Broadway in East Baltimore’s Oliver neighborhood for a shooting around 11:26 p.m. Responding officers found Georgio Johnson, 33, unresponsive suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
Johnson was taken to an area hospital where he later died, according to police.
Just over an hour later, officers responded to a ShotSpotter gun fire detection alert in the 800 block of Glover St. near the McElderry Park neighborhood in East Baltimore.
When officers arrived, they found three victims: a 30-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man all suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
All of the victims were taken to the hospital, where the 31-year-old man was later pronounced dead. The other two victims are currently listed in stable condition, police said.
Baltimore has seen a total of 80 killings this year, amounting to six more than at the same time last year, according to Baltimore police homicide data.
