5 murdered in pair of incorrect route crashes on Chicago interstate

CHICAGO (AP) — Five individuals were executed in discrete, blazing incorrect route crashes on a Chicago freeway, state police said.

The main accident along the Eisenhower Expressway, or Interstate 290, happened about 1:10 a.m. in west rural Forest Park when an incorrect way driver hit a vehicle in the eastward paths, executing the two drivers while their vehicles burst into flares, said Illinois State Police representative Gabriela Ugarte.

A traveler in the vehicle hit by the incorrect way driver was hospitalized with non hazardous wounds.

A half-hour after that crash, a vehicle drove the incorrect way onto an I-290 slope and impacted head-on with another vehicle, making both burst into flames, Ugarte said.

The two drivers and a traveler in one of the vehicles were slaughtered, police said.

A 51-year-elderly person from Skokie and a 24-year-elderly person from Chicago were among the three individuals murdered in that crash, as indicated by the Cook County clinical inspector’s office.

The clinical analyst’s office has not delivered any of the accident casualties’ names.
