A mother of two has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her husband to death at their Sydney home.
Police were called to the property around 2pm yesterday to find a 49-year-old man with fatal stab wounds to his neck.
Authorities believe the alleged attack unfolded in front of the couple’s two young boys, aged 16 and 10, who phoned triple zero for help.
“Whilst I can say the two children were present, it’s too early in the investigation to establish what they heard or may have seen,” Detective Chief Inspector Darren Sly said.
The 37-year-old woman was taken into custody and rushed to hospital due to swallowing excessive amounts of prescription medication, police said.
Police believe the pair had a long history of domestic violence and the father was subject to an AVO to prevent him from coming near the home.
