2 hurt in small plane crash near North Texas airport

BRIDGEPORT, Texas (AP) — Two people were injured Friday in the crash of a small plane shortly after takeoff from a North Texas airport, officials said.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the crash happened at 4:15 p.m. on shortly after the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza took off from Bridgeport Municipal Airport. The pilot was trying to return to the airport with engine trouble when the plane clipped some trees and crashed short of the runway, FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said.
Trooper Rick Hunter of the Texas Department of Public Safety said two men, ages 78 and 76, were flown to North Texas hospitals with undisclosed injuries.
Bridgeport is about 70 miles (113 kilometers) northwest of Fort Worth
