3 teen girls killed in Bainbridge Island crash; speed a likely factor

three teenage girls were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Bainbridge Island, and police say speed was likely a factor that led to the wreck.

Police and medics responded to the scene, in the 11000 block of Sunrise Drive, just before 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious accident.

The three teens were found dead at the crash scene. They were identified as Marina Miller, 14; Hannah Wachsman, 16; and Hazel Kleiner, 14.

All three were students at Bainbridge High School. The school district mobilized a crisis support team and is making emotional support counselors available in the Bainbridge High School library.

A preliminary investigation found that their car was headed south when it veered off the roadway and struck several trees, then rolled over.

The accident remains under investigation
